Proud to Support the 2026 Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon
We’re proud to have been a sponsor of the Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon once again this year—and what a year it was.
The 2026 event was an incredible success, bringing together athletes, families, and the broader Nordic community for a truly memorable end to the season. One of the most meaningful outcomes was the $16,500 raised for KidSport Canada, marking the largest annual donation to date and bringing the five-year total to over $62,000. Supporting initiatives that help kids access sport is something we’re honoured to be part of.
Despite a challenging winter that saw many Nordic venues close early, participation in the ski marathons remained strong, matching last year’s numbers. The Stussi Night Sprints also saw impressive growth, with a 50% increase in attendance in just their second year—quickly becoming a highlight of the event.
From the joyful energy of the “Finishing is Winning” group to the presence of world-class athletes—including Olympians and a Paralympian who earned four gold medals this year—the event truly showcased the full spectrum of the sport. Even more exciting, athletes connected to the event have gone on to win some of the biggest races in the world, including the Norwegian Birkie and the Vasaloppet, helping put this event on the global map.
The international reach continues to grow, with participants from 12 countries, alongside strong representation from across Canada and the United States. It’s incredible to see an event in our own community gaining this kind of worldwide recognition.
None of this would be possible without the dedication of the volunteer community—approximately 360 individuals contributing over 600 volunteer shifts—along with the tireless efforts of the organizing committee who work year-round to bring it all together.
We’re grateful to play a small part in something so impactful. Congratulations to everyone involved in making the 2026 Sovereign 2 SilverStar Ski Marathon such a success—we’re already looking forward to next year.
